If you wish to travel to France via ferry, one route that you can take is Poole to Cherbourg, which is the shortest and fastest crossing possible. This route is available from April through October each year. Cherbourg is located in the Normandy area in northwestern France, approximately 220 miles from Paris.

Brittany Ferries is the only ferry company to offer the Poole to Cherbourg crossing. Their high speed ship Normandie Vitesse provides the transportation.

Poole to Cherbourg Ferry Timetable

As of 3 December 2010, the Normandie Vitesse will operate a daily round-trip service from 8 April 2011 to 31 October 2011.

From April to May and then again in October, depending on the day of the week, the ship will leave Poole at either 07:15 (with an arrival time of 10:30) or 08:30 (with an arrival time of 11:50). To make the return trip back, the ship will leave Cherbourg at either 11:15 (with an arrival time of 12:40) or 16:00 (with an arrival time of 17:20).

From June through September, the Normandie Vitesse will leave Poole at 07:15 daily, arriving at Cherbourg at 10:30. It will leave Cherbourg at 11:15 daily, arriving at Poole at 12:40.
